DIESEL TO SHOW #FW16 READY TO RETAIL SHOW IN TOKYO TO CELEBRATE 30 YEARS IN JAPAN

Diesel, the establish premium fashion brand rooted in denim mastery and founded in 1978,  announces an official fashion show and exhibition in Tokyo on September 6th to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of Diesel in Japan.

“I have always been in love with Japan. I visit the country regularly – just as my design team, we do our research there, so one could definitely say that Japan always played and still plays a big part in Diesel’s global success! So I dedicate this 30th anniversary to Diesel’s Japanese supporters, who always push us to do more and better. We have some new crazy, cool Diesel stuff being put together for this anniversary, with a show and an exclusive heritage exhibition!” Says Renzo Rosso, Diesel founder.

The celebratory event will be broken down into 2 parts on 6th September in Tokyo:
- Introduce the heritage of Diesel with an exhibition of Diesel's famous archive focused around key denim looks from 1978 to now, curated by Nicola Formichetti.
- FW16 collection catwalk show, executing a real ready to retail concept as the collection presented will be available in store and on line from that same day.
- The show will be followed by an after party where top customers and selected international press and digital influencers will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Diesel.

“Japan is where I was born and it has always played a prominent role in my creative process, being a constant source of inspiration, being a huge part of who I am. And now it’s a match made in heaven for me, as artistic director of Diesel, to be able to celebrate 30 amazing years of Diesel in Japan.  We are working hard to prepare an upcoming series of amazing events to mark this 30 year anniversary with a big boom starting with the exhibition and show on  September 6th ! I just can’t wait! “Explains Nicola Formichetti, Diesel’s creative director.

At the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Diesel in Japan, the brand is launching 2 denim capsule collections, bias-cut denim and a Jogg jeans utility type, which will be available worldwide on Diesel’s e-commerce site from the 6th September.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5

and on the 5th day of Christmas...
... on my Christmas Wishlist

Soviet Denim - .

Real People, Real Denim. That is the Soviet motto.
Well, I won't lie. I love their denims. They just fit so well and are comfortable all day. Some denims have that tendency to make you uncomfortable after wearing them for a few hours. Not these.

Oh, and guess who else wears Soviet Denims? Our very own lovely ladies from Miss South Africa. I had the lovely opportunity earlier in this year to spend the morning with Liesl Laurie (Miss South Africa 2015), Refilwe Mthimunye (1st Princess) & Ntsiki Mkhize (2nd Princess) at Soviet in Cresta. Watching them shop and try out different styles and cuts. We had such a fun day. Check out some of the pics from that day.

And so on my wishlist, I shall add the Soviet Keaton #4 Fashion Skinny Denim Jean. I have a smaller build and believe that one needs to always wear clothing that fits you properly and not too small and not too big. That is why these skinny denim's are perfect as they actually fit so well on me.

#PinterestPickOfTheWeek - 07/09/2015

So I recently acquired a new item of clothing which I have always been skeptical about owing. Lets just say, from now on I will be owning my new denim jacket. So here is this weeks #PinterestPickOfTheWeek aka #PPOTW for some of my favourite ideas on how to rock your denim jackets.

Sneakers! Sneakers go so well with denims, personally my favourite sneakers are a pair of Soviet high tops!

Not entirely a denim jacket, but more denim on denim. And it is okay. Break the denim lines with a belt and
paired with a good pair of sneakers it always looks good.

I only now realised that majority of my picks this week all have been paired with a plain white shirt. It most definitely adds a crisp fresh look and contrasts nicely against the blue denim.

Just had to say that one can pair different colour denim together too without it looking like a Christmas Tree!

The Boots. The Shirt. The Belt. Everything just fits so well.

The hat!! It is most definitely one of my favourite new accessories. Adds some different texture to your look.

More accessories. It is a known fact that browns usually go well with denim as they compliment each other rather well. Grab a leather bag and finish off your look with a pair of original ray ban aviators.

#SovietPremium

SOVIET
Because Real People wear Real Denim...

The Soviet Group have moved into a newer and much trendier look and feel. The #SovietPremium movement has started. The 1st store to get a brand new look was the Cresta Shopping Centre store. We got the lowdown on the event and who was there. Check this out.

When you walk into the store, you just the feel that this newly renovated space is modern and trendy. Its a store that you want to be in.

This space is filled with textures, colours and moods.
The walls.
The floor.
The roof.
Everything is so different, yet works so well together.

The beautiful ladies from Miss South Africa couldn't resist and I caught them snapping a #Selfie in one of the mirrors that have been ever so strategically placed on the ceiling.

I spotted a few items in store that I consider to be must haves. Or actually just a few things I really liked and wish I could have in my own wardrobe.

Lots of leather and denim. As far back as what I can remember, denim is that one fabric that has just always been there. It is a timeless classic and I think that #Soviet is finding new ways to incorporate denim in fashion.

The #SovietPremium store in Cresta has its own Kiddies section. So there is no excuse, and even the lil ones can by seen styling in a #Soviet denim.

I have this obsession.
Shoes.
It's really an addiction and I just loved these #Soviet kicks.

Check out who graced the black carpet at the opening of the Soviet Denim #SovietPremium store in Cresta Shopping Centre.

From the pics you guys can see that there was a definite variety of familiar faces in the entertainment and fashion industries at the event. This is something that you don't usually experience. Most of the times one tends to see the same regular faces at all the events. This just goes to show that Soviet Denim is a brand that is for everyone. And that fashion is for everyone and not just for the people that are more fashion forward.

Wait.
That guy looks rather familiar.
I think I have seen him before.

And then I turn to my left and his face is on the wall!

Sean Tucker is not only a pretty face and model. At the #SovietPremium launch Sean was playing DJ and providing all the guests with some good tunes whilst enjoying the evening.

I never let a photo op go by. It was at the #SovietPremium launch that I got to chat with Miss South Africa 2015, Liesl Laurie. She is such fun and even though the 5 minutes we chatted and joked around, it felt as if we were great friends enjoying the evening out.

Congratulations must go to Leon & Leon from Infinite PR. I do believe that these guys are the best at what they do. You guys did a great job with the Soviet Denim #SovietPremium Cresta store launch!
