    Nitro Circus LIVE

    Nitro Circus...

...is back in town later this year in late October! The global action sports phenomenon is bringing an all-new show, filled with 'unbelievable' world firsts & spectacular tricks & mind-blowing stunts. (I promise you, this one is even for those who don't classify themselves as "motorbike people.")

    Cape Town: 21 October
    Durban: 25 October
    Johannesburg: 28 October

"We are so pumped to come back to SA. The shows in 2014 were unreal, the fans were incredible," said Mike Porra, Nitro Circus Executive Chairman & Head of Creative. "Now to have an opportunity to come back with Travis Pastrana riding & with an all new show, this tour is going to be epic."

"I'm so excited to finally have the chance ot go to SA & ride for our fans there," said Pastrana. "I was so disappointed that my broken leg sidelined me last time. I kept hearing how awesome the shows were & that the crowd energy was off the charts. It's where some of our all-time greatest moments happened & I can't wait to be there this summer!"

An all-star international lineup with multiple X Games medalists & the best riders in action sports' biggest disciplines such as freestyle motocross, BMX, scooter & inline. Be prepared to see the daredevils ride a host of new contraptions (I have inside info, that we can be prepared to see things like tricycles & even a wheeled recliner.) off the famous Giganta Ramp. It is going to be fun for fans of all ages.

There are super cool Nitro Club VIP packages available too, that include the best seats in the house, a sneak peak at rider rehearsal & a chance to see the Nitro Circus athletes during a pre-show Q&A session. You will also get a souvenir lanyard & a signed Nitro Circus poster. To top it all off, you also then stand a chance to win some serious cool Nitro Circus swag.

For those of you, who don't remember. In Feb 2014, the late Erik Roner, made the most jaw-dropping entrance ever imaginable in Durban. Backflipping from the top of Moses Mabhida Stadium. Now that is seriously something that I rate anyone would be keen to see.

    Check them out.

    #BlueManGroup

So if you haven't heard of the #BlueManGroup yet, I suggest you check them out ASAP. So when I heard early last year that they would be visiting Joburg in 2017 I was super excited. It is a show that I have been wanting to see for ages now. Finally... They are here!

What started out as 3 college friends developed a bald & blue character called 'Blue Man', and then the Blue Man Group show, which is now an award winning show that has been performed in over 20 countries & has been seen by over 35 million people worldwide.

It is most certainly a very dynamic combination of art, music, comedy & the latest technology celebrating the human connection is something for everyone. And that I can reiterate. I saw the show on the opening night at the Teatro at Montecasino. An incredibly interactive show with the 'Blue Man' connecting & engaging with the audience throughout the show.

It has been described as "The Only Show as Colourful as Life." It certainly lives up to that expectation. It is difficult to describe exactly it is what you are watching. I just know that it was super entertaining & a great show overall. Keeping the crowd fixated on their movements, expressions & actions is what really sells the show for me.

They incorporate local music in their show too. Which was an added bonus for majority of the crowd when the late Mandoza's "Nkalakhata" sounded out from the stage & drums & everyone immediately recognised the tune.

The Blue Man Group is on stage at the Teatro at Montecasino until 5 March & you can get your tickets at Computicket. I suggest you do that quickly. I rate they are going to sell out soon if the word spreads too quickly about how much everyone enjoys the show.

Check out these snaps that I took during the show.

The show ends in one collaborative play pen of throwing balls & streamers around like children.

This is something that you don't want to miss out on...

and on the 4th Day of Christmas (later that day)...

RETURN TO SOUTH AFRICA WITH THEIR CLEOPATRA WORLD TOUR

The Lumineers will be coming to South Africa touring in support of their latest smash hit album, Cleopatra. They will be performing in Cape Town on 26th April 2017 at Green Point Park and 28th April 2017 at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.

Presented by 5FM and Channel 24. Another Big Concerts Experience.

It took four years for The Lumineers to follow up their platinum-plus, self-titled debut – which spent 46 weeks on The Billboard 200 and peaked at number 2 – but Cleopatra is well worth the wait.

The band’s self-titled debut album sold 3 million copies worldwide and earned them 2 Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Americana Album.  The first single “Ho Hey” spent 62 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and it’s follow up, “Stubborn Love” climbed to #1 on the Alternative radio charts and was also featured on President Obama’s Summer Playlist.
Continuing the success story from their two-time Grammy nominated, platinum-selling debut in 2012, The Lumineers’ Cleopatra has been an international hit album - not only achieving No.1 status in the UK, U.S & Canada Official Charts, but also charting at the top of the Billboard Top 200.

Their second album Cleopatra proved Schultz and Fraites – along with cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek – are neither taking their good fortune for granted, nor sitting back on their laurels. With the help of producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers) the band ensconced themselves in a recording in Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, N.Y. Influences for the album include Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. The band added “The record is our greatest hits reflecting what’s happened to use over the last three years”.
With four years between albums. The Lumineers are excited to get back out on the road and, as Wesley puts it “connect with the new record and have people connect with it”
