So late last year, early in December, Hello Joburg invited us to join them for their #HelloRecommends evening out in Johannesburg where we could discover what new jewels they had discovered and needed to share with the rest of us.

So on a Thursday evening we headed out to Waterfall Lifestyle Centre in Midrand to a place called Bounce inc. The 'Free Jumping Revolution.'

Now, I am most definitely not the most active person around and I still think, no wait, thought that I was not too unfit. Well. Lets just say that after the 1st 10 minutes I was adjusting my level of fitness to a zero.

However. Bounce was some of the most fun that I have had in ages! Jumping & slam dunking a ball through a basketball hoop - this is something that I have only ever seen happen in movies, never did I even think I'd be attempting to get it done!

Dodgeball... Split into 2 teams and let the games begin. It is actually not as easy as you would expect. Try jumping on a trampoline, picking up a ball & dodging another ball being thrown at you all at the same time. Yes, it is takes some skill.

The Big Bag... Essentially this is like a massive pillow that you land on after taking on some jumps and moves where you can have a safe landing.

Ever wanted to run up the side of a wall? Well, for the brave then headed to 'The Wall' to test out their co-ordination of bouncing on their back and then running up the wall using the high performance trampolines.

Bokeh Fashion Film Festival

The BOKEH is coming to Town...

So for those fashion and film crazed fans, something fantastic and exciting is coming your way in the form of the BOKEH South African Fashion Film Festival up in Johannesburg. Set to take place in the Eurocopter Hangars at the Grand Central Airport in Midrand on the evening of the 4th of September 2014.

Out of the 52 fashion films that were showcased earlier this year down in Cape Town, the 11 winning films are set to be showcased for fashion and film enthusiasts alike for one night only right up here in Johannesburg and thanks to Hisense all the films will be ultra clear on their UHD TV's.

Selvin Govender, Divisional Manager - Product & Marketing for Mercedes-Benz Cars believes that this event compliments Mercedes-Benz customers' fashion choices and lifestyle and is looking forward o bringing this festival to customers in the Gauteng region. 

Adrian Lazarus, MD of BOKEH and Festival Director believes that fashion films are the latest form of communication for all major brands as these films are being shared worldwide on a variety of media platforms. "Welcome to this new world of communication."

The Mercedes-Benz Award - Wanderlust by Ernst Heuser

Now what would a fashion film festival be without some local talented designers to showcase their latest collections. The four designers from Cape Town Fashion Council will each put forth their new trend setting designs.

These names sure are not unknown to any person in the industry and are well known for their creative mind blowing collections.

Craig Jacobs

 

- the founder of the label 'Fundudzi' - Fashion with a Conscience

Eleni Labrou

- her recent collection 'Akedo' took to the runway at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Cape Town

Tzvi Karp

 

- 'Take the literature of Brett Easton Ellis, the films of Andy Warhol and the new line of Star Wars Lego, mix them up in a blender and press “deconstruct.”' - this is how Rudi Benade has described this Mercedes Benz Johannesburg Fashion Week designer.

Joel Janse van Vuuren 

- the man who is synonymous with creativity, colour, and femininity.

Bryan Ramkilawan, CEO of CTFC considers this festival a great opportunity for these designers to extend their brands further into the Johannesburg markets.

This will be a night that will not be forgotten and surely will go down in history as being a glamourous event and successful fashion film festival and will set the bar high for all other festivals to follow in the future.
