One thing in life that I will always support & celebrate
are those individuals fighting against cancer. More so, those fighting breast
cancer as it touches a little closer to home.
So on October 28, glamour & goodwill are coming together
again, for the 3rd time at the Cell C Playing for Pink Ladies
Invitational Polo at the Inanda Club in Sandton in the theme of the the PINK GARDEN. The annual event is set to
raise funds for Reach for Recovery in support of breast cancer awareness &
at the same time, offering guests a day filled with sportsmanship,
entertainment, high-fashion, retail therapy & pampering. Sounds like an
absolute delight, which is hosted by Edith Unlimited, now doesn’t it?
“Part of our role as pillars in our community is to offer
our unfailing support to the women of our community who are in need. With one
in every 26 women likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, it is up to us to
come together to raise funds for those who do no have access to the support
& care required to overcome this disease. The Cell C Playing for Pink
Ladies Invitational Polo gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate
everything that makes us uniquely feminine, while taking a stand for those who
are not in a position to do so because of their illness,” says Edith Venter
(CEO of Edith Unlimited).
The non-profit organisation, Reach for Recovery, facilitates
the support & care of newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, those
undergoing treatment & those in remission. The ‘Ditto Project’, another
initiative, which is specifically aimed to help women from lower income groups
to regain their confidence after diagnosis & surgery, will also be
benefitting from the proceedings of the day.
Stephane Jacobs, Chairperson of Reach for Recovery explained
that the organisation has been built on the simple principle that a woman who
has endures & survived the trauma of breast cancer, will give freely of her
time, experience & care to another woman who is facing the same
diagnosis. The Cell C Playing for Pink
Ladies Invitational Polo has proven that this is true of all men & women,
including some, whose lives have not been touched by this disease.
The Cell C Foundation, Managing Executive, Suzette van der
Merwe says that they, as Cell C are a proud sponsor of this auspicious &
elegant event & that they look forward to hosting a world class event in
support of this meaningful cause.
If you would like to show your support & attend the day,
tickets are available at Ticketpros. The general access tickets starting at R650
each.
