Fashion & Film... BOKEH takes Johannesburg by storm

The BOKEH Fashion Film Festival sure did come to town and with that the who's who in fashion and film alike made appearances and made us stare twice.

4 September 2014, we take a drive to the Grand Central Airport in Midrand and on arrival park our car and a luxurious Mercedes Benz van picks us up and whisks us away to the red carpet. On the drive over I had the privilege to share the van space with Lalla Hiryama and Chris Nkosi and at this point they noticed the MaXhosa by Laduma knitwear varsity jacket I was sporting and this was the conversation starter. Little did I know that this would only be the 1st time that my attire would get some conversations going.

Like with any other Red Carpet event, we got to strut down the carpet with blinding lights and flashes going off as we went.

I decided to bring one of my very close friends, Candice Weber, with me. Keep your eyes on local movie screens. This beautiful lady and up and coming actress will soon be gracing the big screen right here in South Africa.

Well, in all honesty... Who doesnt love the camera?

The best milkshakes I have ever had!! Protea Hotel - Fire & Ice sure brought their A-Game.

Throughout the evening there was more than enough refreshments doing the rounds and it was clear that everyone was just loving every moment of the glamarous night out.

Every event must have those formalities and the crowd then tries to sit silently and listen to the words from speakers, Adrian Lazarus, Director of BOKEH. Selvin Govender, Divisional Manager - Product & Marketing for Mercedes-Benz.
Our beautiful MC for the evening was none other than Bailey Scheinder dressed by Fundudzi.

Lets not forget the other reason why we were all at this event, the fashion films. All I can say is 'WOW!' We seriously have some amazing talent in our midst when it comes to make-up, film, hair and just everything that goes with it! Do yourself a favour and go find them on youtube! Each of these films were just so good that it was difficult for me to even decide which one was my favourite!

If anyone knows me by now, then you should know that this guy is such an inspiration and amazing creative genius!
Tzvi Karp is just one of those designers which you meet and click with from the start. Many people may feel he is eccentric and does things over the top. But that is exactly what makes him so amazing. And it was just such a great chance for me to catch up with him a bit.

and what would a night out on the town be if we did not take a selfie to commemorate the occasion?

OK... just one more selfie on the way out... ;)
