Down the elevator we go to reception and this is where our new look is finally revealed for everyone. And let's just say, they absolutely loved every element of the outfit that was put together for us.
We met Liezl, who was the iProspect representative that would escourt us for the evening. And so William was waiting for us at the doors and the concierge had already taken our luggage and packed it all away in the car. We hopped into the flashy CLA 45 AMG and drove the lengthy 500m down the road to the Sandton International Convention Centre. It was here that Jeffery Rikhotso, the photographer was waiting, along with various other fashion critics and photographers. A few clicks of the camera and some posing with the Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG was next. A mini Photoshoot is always fun! And even better when you are not the one behind the camera, but infront of the lense for a change.
We move towards the doors of the convention centre and between all the clicks of cameras and flashes going off I struggle to hear my own thoughts. Once inside we get our tickets for the shows we about to see and armbands for access to the exclusive VIP Lounge. All this special treatment sure does make one feel extremely important and I'm loving every moment of the attention... (I am a Leo, and by nature we just love the spotlight and being the centre of attention. So I'm basically in my element right here.)
Some formalities take place and we are introduced to the organizers of the event and the reception by these fashionable ladies was really heartfelt and genuine.
The lovely thing about the VIP Lounge is that all your food and drink is on the house. So we each quickly got a fresh glass of Sauvignon Blanc wine and got a chance to relax and chill for a while before the start of the first show. Again we had to pose for some photographers and flash a smile for the camera. As we head back out to runway, we first have some more photos taken.
We enter the runway section and already you can feel the excitement buzzing in the air as people are chatting and snapping pics and selfies before the lights dim. We are ushered to our seats in the front row. There is nothing but air between the runway and me. The excitement sets in and I have a slight case of butterflies erupting in my stomach. My sister and I join the hundreds of other fashionistas and snap a Selfie just in time.
The lights dim...
The music starts...
The runway is lit up in bright lights...
And then out steps the first model walking for Morphe by Marize Malan.
An array of blue, green and orange sweep past as each model struts along on the runway.
Shana Morland's collection entitled Shana is next to take to the runway.
These two ladies sure have an amazing talent and I find myself mesmerized by the lines, colour and shapes of the items showcased in these collections.
Time for a quick break...
We head back to the VIP Lounge where we find a full buffet dinner that has been presented for us to enjoy. Fresh garden greens make up a beautiful deconstructed salad. Lamb chops cooked to soft perfection. Chicken pieces with a crispy skin. Sweet thai styled rice. And naturally a glass of wine to accompany this amazing food was a must.
For dessert mini lemon meringues were the perfect ending to the culinary delights.
More and more people had arrived and the venue was now reaching maximum capacity. Everyone is busy. Laughter. Chatter and music fills the air.
We head back to the runway for the next two designers to showcase their collections to the masses waiting. Again we take our seats in the front row and the lights dim and music starts to play.
Cari Stephenson makes her way to the runway with her collection Tart.
Next to grace the runway is Selfi
Just another quick break before the next show is set to start and we meet up with Jerri Mokgofe for @MB_Fashion to snap some pics of the post styling looks that he created for us.
Next to hit the runway was Adriaan Kuiters and Jody Paulsen... Now this was by far my favourite collection!
Last to take to the runway was MaXhosa by Laduma Ngxokolo
And so the end of night 2 of #MBFWJ came to an end...
